NightQuarter FAQ

NightQuarter is an entertainment precinct that operates every weekend year round in Kawana on the Sunshine Coast. The opening hours are every Friday and Saturday from 4pm-10pm where you will find stallholders,live music, roving entertainment, bars, amusements rides and games, and market shopping.

NightQuarter Live is an award-winning live music and events space hosting national and international acts and special events. Concerts run alongside the night markets when they are on, or separately when concerts are scheduled on other days.

What is the address?

NightQuarter, 8 The Avenue, Birtinya, Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia

We are conveniently located 20 minutes from Sunshine Coast airport, one hour from Brisbane and 12 minutes from both Maroochydore and Caloundra.

  • 18+ photo ID required for entry. Minors must be accompanied and actively supervised by a legal guardian over the age of 25 years.
  • NightQuarter reserves the right to refuse entry if our staff deem you to be:

– under the influence of illicit substances or intoxicated

– a danger to other people around you

– too handsome for your own good

– show symptoms of COVID-19

  • Video cameras, professional recording devices or cameras with removable lenses are not permitted unless you are with media
  • Weapons or items that are deemed unsafe by our security team are not permitted
  • A personal safety and security search is a condition of entry
  • You must wear shoes (thongs are fine) just have something on your feet.
  • Must be fully clothed ie wearing top and bottoms that are considered ‘proper’ attire.

Do you need tickets?

Yes, NightQuarter is a ticketed experience. As an entertainment precinct with a unique built environment and live entertainment throughout, entry passes are required so we can manage numbers and ensure an excellent experience for our guests. NightQuarter is a professionally operated venue with cleaning, security, customer service staff and production. 

Entry passes can be purchased online in advance or at our front gate on arrival. We have single entry passes, family passes and seasonal passes available. 

We recommend buying online in advance as events can sell out. 

Is it family friendly?

Yes! We are a family-friendly environment and a great night out for the whole family.

Single and seasonal family passes are available, and kids 3 and under have free entry. 

Wonder Amusements is a destination for family fun with jumping castles, games, amusement rides and fun for the young and young at heart. 

We have security throughout the site and cleaning teams to ensure a safe and clean environment for you and your family.  

Minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian over the age of 25 years. 

Our events in NightQuarter Live are individually classified with age restrictions. Please check the classification on the ticketing page for the event you are interested in attending. 

What are your opening hours?

We are open every weekend year round on Fridays and Saturdays from 4pm to 10pm. 

The venue may occasionally open additional days during peak holiday periods and for special events. We also open our NightQuarter Live event space for special events 7 days a week.

Functions and special events can be booked 7 days per week until midnight.

Can I bring my pet?

The night markets are pooch friendly and you are welcome to bring your dog into selected as long as it is people friendly, on a short leash and able to be carried if you choose to enter congested areas. 

Dogs must be well behaved and kept under control at all times. Dogs are not allowed to sit on furniture or jump onto tables. Dogs must not be fed whilst on the property.  No animals are permitted in any food preparation areas. Any animal showing signs of aggression will be removed from the property immediately.  The patron accompanying the animal will be liable for any injury, loss, or damage caused by the dog if it misbehaves whilst at NightQuarter.  One animal per patron. 

Accredited assistance dogs are always welcome. 

Is there parking?

There are 520 carparks available onsite within Stockland Birtinya and parking around the venue street surrounds. Parking at Stockland Birtinya is free for the first two hours, and free after 5pm. There are several Translink bus stops located along Kawana Way. Route maps and timetables are available from Translink on 131230.

There is also a large drop off/pick up zone located on The Avenue outside of Malt Shovel Taphouse next door for taxis, ride shares and private vehicles.

There are disabled parking spaces available in the car park located between NightQuarter and Malt Shovel Taphouse.

Can we bring in our own food?

Outside food can’t be brought into NightQuarter. We have 32 food outlets onsite catering to all dietary requirements with cuisines from around the world. You won’t leave hungry! 

Are there gluten free or vegan options?

Yes. Many of our stallholders offer gluten free and vegan options

Do you still open if it is raining?

Yes! We are an all-weather venue. While there are some areas that are open air to take advantage of our Sunny Coast home, many areas are covered by large dome hangars and awnings so you can have a great night out whatever the weather! It’s always fun to head out with gumboots and an umbrella! 

If there is a severe weather event such as a major electrical storm or flooding, the precinct may close. This closure will be notified on the homepage of our website and on our social media channels. 

What happens In the event of extreme weather?

The safety of our guests and staff are paramount. In the event of extreme weather, we may close the venue, if this occurs we will advise the public as best we can through messaging on social media and our website.

We have sanitation stations throughout the venue at every entry and exit, every bathroom block and throughout the space.

Be sure to sanitise your hands frequently and use Covid Safe hand washing techniques while at the venue. There is signage in all bathrooms advising on best practices for hand washing.  

We practice frequent cleaning and sanitising of communal spaces, monitoring hygiene stations to keep everyone safe.

Is there a First Aid onsite?

Yes, there is a dedicated First Aid room to the right inside the front entry with extensive first aid kit. Our managers and security are fully qualified Senior First Aid officers.

Do you have a cloak room?

Due to CovidSafe restrictions, our cloak service is currently unavailable but we hope to be able to re-introduce this in the future. 

What items are not allowed in the venue?

Alcohol (BYO), distribution of promotional material, illegal drugs, glass, any items considered dangerous or otherwise illegal, weapons of any kind, laser lights, fireworks, water pistols, skateboards, roller blades or the like, furniture incl. chairs, no external food or picnics.

Can I bring a pram or stroller?

Yes. However prams and strollers are not permitted at NightQuarter Live ticketed events.

Is there a parents room?

Baby change facilities are located inside our children’s toilet block outside Wonder Amusements. There is also a parents room located within Stockland Birtinya when it is open. 

Is there a lost property?

All staff are directed to hand in lost property to the Venue Office located to the left just inside the the front entrance. Please enquire at the Venue Office in the first instance otherwise contact us on 1300 264 448. 

How do I apply for a job at NightQuarter?

To obtain a job with a Stallholder, you will need to approach them individually yourself as NightQuarter does not provide an employment service for any of its Stallholders.

What height can I be to go onto dodgems
Over 80cm to ride with an adult and 130cm to drive alone


NightQuarter is for everyone, and everyone is welcome regardless of your individual needs. We will try our absolute best to support you to have a wonderful time with us. Please call the office Mon-Fri 9am-5pm on 1300 264 448 to discuss your needs prior to attending. 

 Please make yourself known to our entry staff upon arrival. We have trained staff to assist you and your party with whatever help you may need.

Do you accept companion cards?

We accept companion cards. Please contact our customer support with your valid companion card so we can assist to issue you a ticket to either a concert or our night market. 

Do you have accessible bathrooms?

We have an accessible toilet facility located close to the NightQuarter Live entry.

Do you have wheelchair access?

The surface is flat and we have dedicated wheelchair friendly tables marked onsite in Hawker St, wheelchair ramps, two disabled toilet facilities located close to the entrance and another outside the NightQuarter Live entry, wide, easily accessible sealed pathways throughout the entire venue. You can also access the ATM via a ramp to the right of the front entrance.

We have an Accessible Viewing Platform in NightQuarter Live for guests who use wheelchairs, have significant mobility disabilities, or who have difficulty standing for long periods of time. 

The NightQuarter Live Gallery is not Wheelchair Accessable

Where is the disabled parking?

There are disabled parking spaces available in the car park directly outside the NightQuarter front entry. 

Can I bring my assistance dog?

Yes, accredited assistance dogs are always welcome!

Conditions of Entry

You will need photo ID and ticket (yes you can have the ticket on your phone).

All patrons under 18 must be accompanied by a Responsible Adult over the age of 25 years at all times.

You must wear enclosed shoes. 

Must be fully clothed ie wearing top and bottoms that are considered ‘proper’ attire.

No infants or babies allowed to attend any 18+ events.

Please be aware of the following:
– All bags will be subject to search
– No alcohol or drugs are permitted
– Must comply with the Venue rules.

Are there buy now pay later options?

Yes! Buy now pay later with Latitude Pay. Up to 10 easy instalments.

Is there Refund protection?

Refund protection options are available if you are unable to attend.

Can I Get A Refund If I Have Covid ?
Refunds will be issued with the provision of a ticket and proof of covid (a photo of your RAT test). You must submit your refund request before the conclusion of the event.  Due to show settlements, refunds cannot be issued afterwards.
Refunds can not be issued post-show however in extenuating circumstances the venue may approve a Golden Ticket for use at a future event.  The venue will assess this on a case-by-case basis.  Email hello@nightquarter.com.au
Prohibited items

  • Alcohol (BYO), distribution of promotional material, illegal drugs, glass, any items considered dangerous or otherwise illegal, weapons of any kind, laser lights, fireworks, water pistols, skateboards, roller blades or the like, strollers/prams, furniture incl. chairs, no external food or picnics. The only exception is sealed plastic bottled still water.

• Professional Cameras, sound and video recording equipment and selfie/go pro sticks – it is a requirement by the majority of performers that there be no cameras with the exception of Media.

• Glass – this includes wine glasses, jars, or any other containers or items made of glass.

• No chairs.  If you have a disability we can accommodate you, please make yourself known at the entrance.  We have a dedicated area for wheelchair viewing and can arrange appropriate seating for guests who cannot stand for long periods; There is seating in the Gallery/VIP area upstairs in NightQuarter Live however this is not accessible by wheelchair. 

• No pets are permitted in NightQuarter Live (assistance dogs are always welcome).

I have purchased a HARD TICKET and now I have lost my ticket, what do I do?

Once the ticket sale is processed the purchase is final. If you have lost your ticket, please get in touch with us to arrange for the ticket to be re-issued if it was purchased through an online outlet. We will do our best to assist you. 

What will be the set times?

Set times may change but will usually be announced on the day of the show on the social media event and by email event reminder sent during the week prior. Doors and closing times will be available on announce for each shows.

Is there Public Transport easy to get to?

Yes, just in front of the venue. Also taxi and rideshare services have a pick up point out the front of Malt Shovel Taphouse next door.

We also partner with Sunshine Coast based Scootaboot who provide a local alternative to Uber in our area. Book with Scootaboot and they will ride their electric bikes and meet you wherever you are, fold their bikes and put them in your boot, then drive you home in the comfort of your car! 
ScootaBoot is based out of Coolum Beach on the Sunshine Coast. You can rest easy with the knowledge that their business and drivers are fully insured, over 30 and, most of all, responsible for getting you and your family home safely.
Does the venue provide pass outs?

Yes, the front gate staff will provide a passout.

Is there smoking?

Designated smoking sections are available. Please smoke in the assigned areas only. Although we are considered an outdoor venue you can only smoke in these designated areas. Security issue only one warning, if you are a repeat offender you will be asked to leave the venue.

Do you sell alcohol?

Yes. There are several bar outlets located within NightQuarter Live with canned beverage options, soft drinks and water and a small variety of cocktails.
