Sustainability

We’re constantly inspired by the Sunshine Coast. These are just some of the ways we’re supporting causes we believe in and giving back to the place we call home.

Our precinct has been developed with a Sustainability Management Plan to embed sustainability into our culture, values and practices.

Solar Energy

We’re powered by the sun! Our precinct features an extensive system of solar panels installed on top of our shipping containers to power our site. Being powered by a renewable energy source means that our carbon emissions are reduced.

Waste DIVERSION

We partner with Indigenous-owned company Envirobank and their container deposit scheme to recycle bottles and cans and raise funds for our charity partner Wishlist.

All of the cups, plates, bowls and utensils used by our stallholders and bars are compostable.

Sapps and Co is our preferred supplier for environmental packaging. Sapps and Co is a local family business providing quality packaging, food and beverage, cleaning, and chemical products that meet the requirements of the modern customer who want recycled, compostable and sustainable products.

recycled materials

Our precinct has been architecturally designed to repurpose second hand materials. 80% of materials have been repurposed including ex-Queensland Rail shipping containers, astroturf from tennis courts, pallet furniture, timbers for our decking and roofing.

repairLab

We have partnered with the Sunshine Coast Council’s  LivingSmart program to create The RepairLab to bring new focus to empowering the community to reduce, reuse and recycle. The space will provide opportunities for the community to meet with skilled volunteers to repair and reuse furniture, clothes, jewellery, bicycles and more. It will have regular workshops on how to make art out of plastics, gardening, composting, recycling electronics, repurposing jewellery and glass.
